The design for this small industrial building was shaped by two main considerations: the location on a busy intersection, and the need to optimise the built area on a relatively small site. The former presented an opportunity to create a ‘public face’ for the occupant, taking advantage of the high-exposure site; the latter meant that part of the warehouse space would have to be elevated in order to create sufficient parking space below. The result is a design comprised of 2 curving forms (one the roof, one the floor), and a stepped arrangement of internal spaces including 300m² of offices and training facilities, and 800m² of storage and assembly areas.
